A simple, stop-based monitoring overlay designed for S-Log3 shooters who need to make fast, confident exposure decisions on set.
Most exposure tools show you too much. This one shows you only what matters: 5 zones, each one stop apart, mapped to the decisions you're actually making while shooting.
The 5 Zones:
Dark green (−2) — shadow floor. Below this, you're in noise territory.
Light green (−1) — safe shadows. Clean and usable.
Gray (0) — neutral reference. Middle gray at IRE 41 in S-Log3.
Light pink (+1) — skin anchor. If faces sit here, you're good.
Bright pink (+2) — highlight warning. Skin is getting hot, don't go higher.
Works as:
A monitoring LUT (.cube) loaded in-camera on Sony FX3, A7S III, FX30, A7C II, and other cameras that support user LUTs
A monitoring LUT on any external monitor that accepts .cube files
Built for S-Log3. Not a creative LUT — this is a decision-making tool.
